Rina Amiri, the U.S. Special Envoy for Afghan Women, stated that her main priority is to apply pressure on the Taliban to make them abandon their "destructive" policies towards Afghan women.

Islamabad has strongly condemned the Taliban's Consul General for not standing up during the playing of Pakistan's national anthem, stating that disrespecting the host country's national anthem is against diplomatic principles.
