Tarz Press - Russian media have revealed that the Taliban sent a letter to Vladimir Putin's aide, expressing their interest in participating in the BRICS summit.
Ria Novosti, a Russian state news agency, reported that the letter was sent by Nooruddin Azizi, the Taliban's Minister of Industry and Commerce, to Yury Ushakov, Vladimir Putin's aide. The letter from the Taliban stated, "We are interested in participating in the BRICS summit with a high-level delegation led by Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister of the Taliban."
The BRICS group includes Russia, India, China, Brazil, and South Africa as its main members. Earlier this year, countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iran, and Ethiopia also joined the group. The BRICS summit is scheduled to take place in Russia from October 22 to 24.
The Russian government announced that the summit will focus on developing cooperation in key areas, including politics, security, economics, and finance.
