In a joint press conference today, Friday, March 14, Pakistan Army spokesperson Lt. Gen. Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti claimed that recent attacks in Balochistan—including the assault on the Jaffar Express—were carried out with weapons supplied by India and Afghanistan.
Chaudhry singled out India as the “main sponsor” of the attacks, alleging that Indian media used fake videos and AI tools to push their own narrative about the incident. He further claimed that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Afghan security agencies played a role in planning and executing these operations. Bugti condemned the attacks as part of a broader foreign conspiracy against Pakistan.
The Jaffar Express attack, which took place last Tuesday, was executed by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). The train, carrying 440 passengers bound for Peshawar, was halted by a makeshift bomb before gunmen took hostages. According to the Pakistan Army, a two-day security operation killed all 33 attackers and safely rescued the remaining 354 passengers unharmed.
Chaudhry emphasized that the assailants deliberately targeted a remote area to disrupt telecommunications and complicate the response from security forces.
