Tarz Press: Caspar Veldkamp, the Dutch Foreign Minister, stated that ending the Taliban's "horrific" laws against Afghan women is a top priority for the Netherlands.

On Thursday, September 26, in response to the Taliban's strict policies, Veldkamp expressed his concern on X, writing: "The situation of Afghan women and girls is heartbreaking. They are almost entirely excluded from public life. We cannot accept this."

He further noted that the Netherlands, in coordination with Germany, Canada, and Australia, is holding Afghanistan accountable for violations of the Women's Convention. "That’s why the Netherlands, Canada, Germany, and Australia are holding Afghanistan accountable for violations of the Women’s Convention," Veldkamp emphasized.

The Dutch foreign minister, alongside his colleagues from Germany, Canada, and Australia, announced at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York that they aim to end the Taliban's oppressive policies. He stated: "By holding Afghanistan to account, we aim to end the horrific laws and practices that restrict the rights of the female population."

In their joint statement, the foreign ministers of the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, and Australia reaffirmed their commitment to bringing the Taliban to the International Court of Justice in The Hague if the group fails to reverse its policies against women.
