Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reacted strongly to the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) ruling, which issued arrest warrants for him and several other Israeli officials. Netanyahu declared that the court has become a tool for political confrontation and that Israel does not recognize its authority.
Late on Thursday, November 21, Netanyahu emphasized that no ruling would deter him from defending Israel. He further added that the ICC’s actions are “against the concept of justice” and that its ruling contradicts the facts. He accused the court of making “baseless and false allegations” while ignoring the crimes committed by Hamas.
In his statement, the Israeli Prime Minister also said that the ICC’s decision undermines democracy’s right to self-defense, affirming that Israel would not recognize such a ruling.
This development comes after the ICC announced arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Israel’s former defense minister, and Hamas officials, citing their alleged involvement in serious human rights violations.
