The acting Taliban Minister of Industry and Commerce has emphasized the need to increase transit projects between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan during a meeting with the Uzbek Minister of Transport.
According to Tarz Press, the Taliban's Ministry of Industry and Commerce stated in a press release on Friday, July 4, that Nuruddin Azizi, in his meeting with Ilham Mahkamov, the Uzbek Minister of Transport, stressed the importance of implementing and completing the Afghan-Trans project. He also called for investment in various road and air transport sectors in Afghanistan.
The ministry mentioned that discussions in this meeting included establishing transport companies for passenger transfers between Mazar-i-Sharif and Termez, as well as creating a corridor between China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan. The press release quoted the Uzbek Minister of Transport expressing his country's readiness to sign an international transport agreement. Meanwhile, a joint exhibition of Afghan and Uzbek products was held in Tashkent. In this exhibition, 75 companies from Afghanistan showcased their products in 140 booths.
