Korean media have reported that Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, has executed 30 high-ranking officials due to their failure in managing recent floods.
Tarz Press: According to several reliable government sources cited by Korean media, 30 North Korean officials were executed in late August. Reports indicate that this occurred after devastating floods in the country provoked Kim Jong Un's anger. Japan's Nikkei Asia initially reported, citing credible sources, that Kim Jong Un had promised severe punishment for those who were negligent in managing and controlling the floods. A South Korean media outlet, Chosun, stated that Kim Jong Un, in his initial response, dismissed several officials in charge. Korean media further reported that following the floods, more than 4,000 buildings were submerged, with statistics showing that 4,000 people died and tens of thousands were displaced from their homes.
