Following the protests against the new "Propagating Virtue and Preventing Vice" law, the Women's Movement for Freedom has called on the international community to isolate the Taliban and avoid any engagement with the group.
Tarz Press:
In a recent gathering, the Women's Movement for Freedom declared that the Taliban's virtue and vice law is not born of justice or Sharia but is a product of the Taliban's oppression and tyranny. In a resolution issued during the gathering—a copy of which was sent to Tarz Press—the movement further urged the international community and international organizations to "isolate the Taliban and prevent any engagement with them."
The resolution also stressed that the movement demands "the prosecution and punishment of Taliban leaders for human rights violations" and called on the people of Afghanistan to continue their struggle and not lose hope. The Taliban's "Propagating Virtue and Preventing Vice" law came into effect on August 21, imposing severe restrictions on women. These include banning women from public places, prohibiting them from raising their voices, and requiring them to fully cover their bodies and faces. Human rights organizations, the United Nations, and many countries have condemned this law and have urged the Taliban to reconsider it.
