An informed source at the Afghan Embassy in Berlin confirmed to Tarz Press that they have received an order to vacate the diplomatic premises in Germany.
The diplomatic source stated that similar warnings had been issued by Berlin before, but these earlier warnings were not clear about whether it meant “closing or vacating” the embassy buildings.
The source, who wished to remain anonymous, added that the Afghan Embassy in Berlin received a written notice yesterday stating that the embassy must be closed or handed over. However, the notice did not specifically mention handing over the embassy to the "Taliban." Another informed source also confirmed to Tarz Press that, following the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan, Afghan diplomatic missions in Germany have had no diplomatic function, prompting the German government to reassess the situation.
The German government has yet to comment on the matter, but the German Foreign Minister has repeatedly stated that diplomatic relations with the Taliban are "impossible" due to their "extremist policies."
This development comes as the German government deported 28 Afghan nationals accused of serious crimes to Kabul on Friday. At the same time, the German Foreign Ministry announced that the deportation of Afghan asylum seekers to Kabul does not signify normalizing relations with the Taliban. According to the German magazine Der Spiegel, the deported individuals were accused of serious crimes, including rape and armed robbery.
