The Afghan Journalists in Exile organization has reported that during the three years of Taliban rule in Afghanistan, 309 Afghan journalists have been imprisoned, with 69 of them being held in detention for prolonged periods.

The report, published on the third anniversary of Afghanistan's fall, further reveals that an act of violence against journalists in Afghanistan has been recorded every day, and every three days, a journalist has been imprisoned.
