Mohammad Haneef Atmar, the former Foreign Minister of the Republic and a prominent figure in Afghan politics, stated that his primary goal, along with his party, is to establish lasting peace and stability in cooperation with the Taliban.
Tarz Press – Atmar made these remarks in an exclusive interview with Deutsche Welle, where he subtly addressed the Taliban's monopolization of power, saying, "It is essential that we live together under one system in one country." He emphasized that neither the Taliban should be rejected nor should the Taliban reject the people of Afghanistan, warning that ignoring any side would be a serious obstacle to achieving permanent stability in the country.
The Taliban have been repeatedly criticized for excluding anyone outside their movement, especially religious minorities and women, from having any role in the government structure. Yesterday, August 14, marked the third anniversary of the Taliban's complete control over Afghanistan. During this occasion, prominent figures such as Sirajuddin Haqqani called on the international community to engage with the Taliban, asserting that now is a favorable time for such engagement.
