Turkmenistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced its full readiness to start the practical work on the TAPI project within Afghanistan's borders, stating that the work will commence in the near future.

Tarz Press – On Saturday, August 10, Turkmenistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that Rashid Meredov, the country's Foreign Minister, assured Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban's Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, during a phone conversation, of Turkmenistan's complete readiness to begin the practical work on the TAPI project in Afghanistan. The Taliban have also previously stated that the technical issues hindering the TAPI project have been resolved and that they are now ready to start the practical work.
TAPI is a major natural gas pipeline project that aims to transport gas from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India via a pipeline.
Member countries of TAPI, including Afghanistan, believe that the project will act as a regional connector, driving Afghanistan and the region towards prosperity, economic development, and mutual cooperation. Many experts also believe that the TAPI project will strengthen relations among the member countries and, due to the shared interests it provides, will help solidify a political alliance among these nations.
