Attack on Mohammad Ali Sadaqat: One Dead, Sadaqat and Two Others Injured

Sources from Daykundi province have informed Tarz Press that in an attack by armed men on Mohammad Ali Sadaqat, a former local commander and parliamentary candidate, one person was killed and three others, including Mr. Sadaqat and his wife, were injured.
This incident occurred around 9:00 AM today, Wednesday, August 7, in the Nili district of Daykundi. According to local sources, Mohammad Ali Sadaqat sustained only superficial injuries due to his bulletproof vest, and his health condition is now stable. These sources, who wish to remain anonymous, also told Tarz Press that the perpetrators of the attack were three young individuals; however, the motive behind the attack remains unclear. Official Taliban sources and Mr. Sadaqat's associates have yet to comment on the incident.
Mohammad Ali Sadaqat, known as General Sadaqat, is an influential figure and was a parliamentary candidate for Daykundi province under the former Republic government. He continued to reside in Daykundi after the fall of the Republic government.
