Afghan Embassy in the Netherlands Engages with Taliban

The Afghan Embassy in the Netherlands has announced on Twitter that it is engaging with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul and stated that the embassy represents "our beloved country."

According to Tarz Press, the announcement stated: This embassy represents "our beloved country" and, in order to resolve issues and provide consular services to our compatriots, is engaging with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan. The announcement also mentioned that consular documents and letters are sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul for verification. The Taliban's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also confirmed the engagement between this embassy and the current rulers in Kabul. Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesperson for the Taliban's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reposted this announcement, highlighting the embassy's engagement with the Taliban's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Hafiz Zia stated: From now on, the embassy will provide consular and other services to the people under the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the salaries and expenses of the embassy's diplomats will be paid by the Islamic Emirate.
The Afghan Embassy in the Netherlands did not provide details on how it is engaging with the Taliban, but according to international conventions, such matters require the understanding of the host countries. So far, the Netherlands has not responded to this decision by the embassy.
