The Taliban have declared that consular services provided by diplomatic representatives of the previous republic government in several countries are invalid and stated that they bear no responsibility for these legal documents.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad, Deputy Spokesperson for the Taliban's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced in a video message on Twitter on Tuesday, July 30, that Afghans living abroad should contact Afghanistan's current political representatives in other countries for consular services. He explained that this decision was due to "the arbitrary actions of former republic regime employees" and emphasized that consular services provided by them are unreliable.
This announcement comes as diplomats from the previous republic government continue their duties in many foreign countries, while the Taliban have representatives in only a few.
