A senior U.S. diplomat has announced that the fourth Doha meeting on Afghanistan will take place. Karen Decker, the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires for Afghanistan, stated in a virtual meeting with journalists in Qatar that the meeting is on the UN's agenda. While she did not specify the exact date, she emphasized that addressing Afghanistan's issues is the main focus. Decker highlighted the right to education and work for Afghan women as a primary concern for the UN and the world.
This announcement follows the third Doha meeting, which the Taliban deemed successful, though no changes regarding women's education and employment have been seen yet.
