Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, has recently ordered Taliban officials to stop using government facilities for personal use, especially government buildings. According to Tarz Press, he stated, "If anyone is living in government institution buildings, they should relocate elsewhere." Taliban-controlled Bakhtar News Agency reported on July 15 that personal use of government buildings contradicts Islamic ethics.
Reports indicate that after the fall of the republic on August 15, 2021, many Taliban officials took over government buildings as homes and residences. This is the first time Mullah Hibatullah has addressed this issue.
