The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it has spoken with the U.S. Department of Defense about reducing potential risks.
According to Tarz Press, the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying that the defense ministers of both countries had a phone conversation on Friday, July 22, discussing how to alleviate concerns about potential future conflicts. Although the statement did not specify any particular risks, the Kremlin has previously criticized the U.S. stance on delivering long-range missiles to Kyiv, emphasizing that it could escalate into a larger crisis. On July 10, the U.S. also announced its intention to deploy long-range weapons in Germany as a defensive measure. These actions have raised serious concerns for the Kremlin. The Pentagon also confirmed the telephone conversation between the U.S. and Russian defense ministers but did not provide many details on the matter.
