The Afghanistan Under-20 national football team secured fifth place in the Central Asia Championship by defeating Turkmenistan.
The national team faced Turkmenistan this afternoon, ending in a 1-1 draw during regular time. However, they triumphed 9-8 in the penalty shootout, thus securing fifth place in the competition. Previously, Afghanistan had lost to the teams of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, failing to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament.
