The United States Presidential Palace has confirmed, in response to a New York Times report, that a Parkinson's disease specialist did visit the White House but clarified that it was not for treating President Joe Biden.
According to Tarz Press, the physical health of President Joe Biden has recently become a hot topic in the media and on social networks. Social media activists have been writing humorous notes about Biden's involuntary movements or physical weaknesses. These rumors gained traction following the publication of a new report by the New York Times about Biden.
The New York Times reported that a Parkinson's disease specialist visited the White House eight times from 2023 until spring 2024 to treat President Joe Biden, suggesting that Biden's health status is not entirely normal.
The White House recently responded to this New York Times report, stating that the Parkinson's disease specialist did not come to the White House to treat Joe Biden. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre assured the media during a press conference yesterday that Joe Biden's health is fine and he continues with his election campaign.
Jean-Pierre acknowledged part of the New York Times report that the Parkinson's specialist visited the White House more than usual last year. However, she stated that the doctor may not have come for Biden. "Has the president been treated for Parkinson's disease? No. Does the president take medication for Parkinson's? No, never. Has the president met this specialist? No, he never would, because there's no need."
Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House spokesperson, called for "respect" from journalists and emphasized the need for accuracy in reporting news.
