Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Ukraine will not accept any peace agreement that is reached without its direct involvement. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Zelensky warned against backroom deals and efforts by some countries to end the war between Ukraine and Russia without considering Kyiv’s interests, calling such agreements “unacceptable.”

Zelensky emphasized that lasting peace is only possible if Ukraine is an active participant in the decision-making process. He also encouraged Europe to create its own independent military force, arguing that over-reliance on NATO could pose risks for European security.

Zelensky stated that the European Union must establish a joint military force to ensure regional security independently.

His remarks were widely interpreted as a subtle message to U.S. President Donald Trump, who recently returned to power and has advocated for reducing U.S. military commitments to its allies.

Zelensky warned that Ukraine’s armed forces alone cannot guarantee security against Russian threats, urging Europe to take a more proactive role in ensuring regional stability.
