Kabul – Mohammad Kamal Afghan, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, has confirmed an explosion at the ministry. He stated that the blast resulted from a suicide attack at the ministry’s entrance. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, the explosion occurred at the entrance gate of the ministry’s building in Kabul before noon on Thursday, February 13.

Afghan added that the suicide bomber was eliminated by Taliban forces before he could enter the building. He further confirmed that one person was killed and three others were injured in the incident. The attacker was also killed in the explosion. Afghan emphasized that the blast did not cause any significant damage to the building or the ministry’s compound.

However, local sources told Tarz Press that the explosion was powerful, and there is a possibility that the actual number of casualties is higher than the official figures released by the Taliban.

Earlier this week, on Tuesday, another explosion occurred outside the Kunduz governor’s office, killing 25 people and injuring 30 others. ISIS claimed responsibility for that attack, but no group has yet claimed responsibility for the Kabul ministry explosion.
