He stated they need to know why this process went wrong and why there has been no accountability for it.
The U.S. Defense Secretary also stressed that the hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan projected a weak image of the United States on the global stage. This comes amid continued criticism from Donald Trump and other former U.S. officials, who have repeatedly blamed Joe Biden for mishandling the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
