Abdul Kabir, the newly appointed acting Minister of Refugees for the Taliban, has stated that he will fully comply with the orders of the Taliban leader, Mullah Haibatullah, regarding his demotion from Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs to the Ministry of Refugees.
In a video released on the official page of the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, Abdul Kabir is seen conducting his first meeting with the ministry’s deputies and directors. However, the footage suggests he is still managing the ministry from the Sepidar Palace.
Kabir emphasized in his remarks that "transfers and changes" are a principle in any system and that he will not defy any directive issued by the Taliban leadership.
These statements come amidst reports from Tarz Press sources that Kabir is reportedly dissatisfied with Mullah Hiabatullah’s decision to remove him from his former political role.
This move by Mullah Haibatullah has sparked widespread discussions about internal rifts within the Taliban leadership. Critics and supporters of Abdul Kabir argue that his demotion, which lacks a conventional justification, undermines the standard practice of promoting or politically strengthening officials in such transitions. In other governance systems, such changes typically involve advancements or expanded responsibilities, rather than a clear downgrading of rank.
