The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice Claims to Prevent the Usurpation of Over 65,000 Acres of Land. The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice has claimed that it has prevented the usurpation of over 65,000 acres of land.
In a statement published on its Facebook page, the ministry announced that its technical committees for preventing land usurpation reviewed and reclaimed over 65,229 acres of land in the past month.
According to the ministry, these reclaimed lands are located in the provinces of Kunduz, Jawzjan, Takhar, Ghazni, Ghor, Paktia, Khost, Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Bamyan, and Panjshir.
The statement noted that the largest amount of reclaimed land during the past month was in Ghazni Province, totaling 13,285 acres.
The usurpation of state-owned land is not a new phenomenon in Afghanistan. Former officials, party leaders, local commanders, and tribal strongmen have repeatedly been accused of illegally seizing government properties and lands.
