German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany will provide additional military equipment worth €650 million to Ukraine, with these aid packages to be delivered to Kyiv by the end of December.
Scholz conveyed this message via his X account during his visit to Ukraine, stating that Germany remains the strongest supporter of Ukraine in Europe. He emphasized that Ukraine could fully count on Germany, adding that his government always follows through on its commitments.
This statement comes as the war in Ukraine has intensified, with Russian forces escalating their air and ground operations. At the same time, reports have emerged suggesting fatigue among Ukrainian soldiers, with thousands returning home from the front lines.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also signaled for the first time his willingness to negotiate with Russia. He reportedly indicated that Ukraine might even relinquish its claims over Russian-occupied territories if the country were to join NATO.
