Kabul - Tarz Press: Dr. Abdullah, former head of Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation, announced his recent meeting with former Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
This meeting took place shortly after the Istanbul Summit, which involved several figures from the previous Afghan government, including unofficial representatives of the Taliban. Abdullah did not provide further details of his conversation with Karzai, but images shared from his platform show Omar Zakhilwal, former Minister of Finance and a key figure in past Afghan political structures, also present.
According to information received by Tarz Press, Hamid Karzai’s brother, Hekmat Khalil Karzai, the former Deputy Foreign Minister, and Mustafa Mastoor, Abdullah’s nephew and former Minister of Economy, represented the two leaders at the Istanbul meeting. Close associates of Karzai, such as Karim Khurram, previously expressed support for the Istanbul summit but explicitly denied any involvement by Hamid Karzai.
The Istanbul meeting, held under the title “National Dialogue,” included around 70 figures from various political factions. However, details of the meeting remain concealed, raising transparency concerns among the Afghan people and the international community and casting doubt on the potential outcomes of the summit.
