Washington – Tarz Press: The Guardian reported that former U.S. President Donald Trump has increasingly resorted to racist and misogynistic statements in the final weeks of his election campaign, alongside making widespread threats that have significantly impacted America’s political atmosphere.
The article pointed to Trump’s attacks on a former U.S. Congress member and his threatening tone toward his opponents, painting a concerning picture of his extreme efforts to secure votes. The Guardian described these behaviors as unprecedented and far from any semblance of reform, emphasizing that Trump continues to aggressively confront his critics.
According to the report, Trump has pledged to use the military against what he calls “domestic enemies,” listing figures like Democratic representatives Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff as part of this group. These extreme promises, coupled with his racist and misogynistic rhetoric, reflect a dangerous approach in this campaign, unprecedented in recent American history.
In a rally, American comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made an insulting remark about Puerto Rico, which sparked widespread backlash. Both Republicans and Democrats condemned this racist language, but Trump, rather than apologizing, attempted to portray himself as a friend of the Latino and Puerto Rican communities—a claim met with a negative reaction from Puerto Ricans.
The Guardian further highlighted Trump’s misogynistic comments against Kamala Harris, the U.S. Vice President and Democratic nominee, whom he accused of low intelligence and confusion. In an interview with right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson, Trump also described former Congresswoman Liz Cheney as a warmonger and issued a veiled threat against her. In response, Cheney warned of the dangers of dictatorship, expressing her concerns over Trump’s authoritarian inclinations.
The Guardian concluded that it is now up to American voters to decide in the face of these violent, divisive statements that Trump has employed in the final days of his campaign, and to find a way to prevent a repeat of history and the threat of authoritarian rule.
