Tarz Press: With the U.S. presidential election set for November 5, 2024, Republicans in the Senate and House of Representatives have outlined a comprehensive agenda for Donald Trump’s first 100 days should he win. This plan clearly lays out the Republicans’ priorities and demonstrates their commitment to fulfilling Trump’s campaign promises.

Key Priorities of the Plan

One of the main goals for Republicans is to implement significant changes in the country’s fiscal policy. They aim to pass a major tax-cut package to fulfill Trump’s campaign promises. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Mike Johnson are collaborating to establish this financial package. The plan also includes funding for border security initiatives, with a focus on completing Trump’s proposed border wall.

In addition, extending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which Trump signed into law in 2017, is another primary objective. This law is set to expire at the end of 2025, so Republicans aim to renew it. They also plan to cut funding for areas they believe have been “weaponized” under the Biden administration.

Current Election Landscape

With the race between Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris close, Republicans are determined to achieve their objectives if Trump wins. Senator John Barrasso, regarded as a new Republican leader for the next Congress, recently met with Trump’s team to design a roadmap for his first 100 days in office.

The Electoral System

The U.S. presidential election will be held on November 5, 2024, with the winner beginning a four-year term in January 2025. The president is elected not only by popular vote but also through the Electoral College system. A candidate needs 270 out of 538 electoral votes to win. Key swing states like Arizona, Georgia, and Michigan are expected to play a crucial role in this election. The Electoral College will convene on December 17, 2024, to formalize the votes, with the final result certified on January 6, 2025.
