Afghan National Arrested for Allegedly Organizing Terrorist Attack on U.S. Election Day

Tarz Press: U.S. security officials have announced the arrest of an Afghan citizen named Nasir Ahmad Towhidi, accused of organizing a terrorist attack on U.S. Election Day.

According to American media reports, citing the FBI, Tohidi took several steps in preparation for the attack, including selling his house, attempting to relocate his family outside the U.S., and purchasing weapons and ammunition. Reports indicate that Towhidi intended to carry out the attack on behalf of the terrorist group ISIS. FBI documents revealed that Tohidi had previously viewed ISIS propaganda and sent money to a charity accused of funneling funds to ISIS.

The FBI’s preliminary investigation stated that the ultimate goal of Nasir Ahmad Towhidi and his unidentified accomplices was to carry out a violent attack in the U.S. in the name of ISIS. According to the information released about Tohidi, he is a 27-year-old who entered the U.S. in 2021 on a special immigrant visa.
