Tarz Press: While Israeli officials emphasize an immediate response to Iran, U.S. President Joe Biden has once again stated that Washington and Tel Aviv will not rush into an immediate decision concerning Iran.
In a fresh statement on Friday, October 3, President Biden stressed that increasing sanctions on Iran should first be examined to assess how effective they could be. He also mentioned that Israel has not yet made a decision on retaliatory action against Iran. Biden emphasized that alternative measures to targeting Iran’s oil and nuclear facilities should be considered first.
The U.S. president added that he will not make an immediate decision regarding Iran with Israel, and they will wait for the results of further negotiations. He was reviewing the possibility of intensifying sanctions on Iran, he said.
He continued, noting that senior U.S. and Israeli officials are still consulting on how to respond to Iran. In conclusion, Biden said that he will mobilize the world to achieve peace in the Middle East.
These remarks by President Biden come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Iran’s missile attacks on Tel Aviv as a “major mistake” and vowed that Tehran would pay the price for it.
