Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, condemned the pager explosions in Lebanon, stating that the U.S. fully supports Israel's actions behind such attacks.
Tarz Press – In a statement, the Iranian president said that this incident shows how Western countries, including the U.S., claim to seek ceasefire, but in reality, "fully support the crimes, killings, and blind terror carried out by Israel."
He added that using everyday tools to enhance comfort as instruments of terror and destruction signifies the fall of humanity. Pezeshkian remarked sharply, "Using these tools as weapons of terror and destruction against those who do not share our perspective is evidence of the collapse of humanity and the dominance of savagery and criminal behavior."
Meanwhile, Lebanese media continue to report on the pager explosions for a second day in Beirut, with the number of injured rising. Hezbollah, in response, has threatened severe retaliation against Israel. In a statement released Wednesday morning, Hezbollah warned that "a harsh response awaits the criminal enemy."
Reuters, citing its sources, reported that the explosives hidden in the communication devices were the work of Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency. However, Israel has yet to comment on these reports.
