The national futsal teams of Afghanistan and Argentina faced off in one of the matches of the Futsal World Cup this evening, Wednesday, September 18. The game ended with a narrow 2-1 defeat for Afghanistan.

Tarz Press – The Afghan players dominated both halves and launched heavy attacks on their opponent’s goal, but unfortunately, they were only able to score once. Meanwhile, Argentina, known as one of the futsal powerhouses, with a World Cup victory in 2016 and runner-up status in 2020, struggled against the Lions of Khorasan and managed to secure the win by just a one-goal difference. The only goal for Afghanistan was scored by Hossein Mohammadi.  Despite the narrow loss, this match is considered one of the most historic and best performances by the Afghan futsal team.

Afghanistan now stands with three points from their two matches, with one win and one loss. The national futsal team is set to face Ukraine in their final group stage match. A win will see them advance to the next round as the second team in their group, while a loss would still allow them to qualify as the third team.
