Berlin and Tashkent have announced an agreement to accept skilled workers from Uzbekistan and to facilitate the repatriation of Afghans accused of crimes from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan.

Tarz Press - Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor, wrote on his X  account on Sunday that Germany and Uzbekistan have signed an agreement on migration and relocation. He added, "We are enabling people with great talents to enter our country." Reuters also quoted Scholz saying that Germany needs workers with exceptional talents for economic growth.

Speaking at a press conference with Uzbek officials in the city of Samarkand, Scholz further stated that the two countries have reached a simple and bureaucracy-free agreement for returning those who cannot stay in Germany, without providing further details.
