Eight Drown in Failed Attempt to Reach the UK

The French government announced that eight people drowned in the English Channel last night in a failed attempt to reach the UK. The identities of the victims remain unknown, but Afghan refugees were also reportedly on board the sunken boat.  
Tarz Press - French media, citing local authorities, reported that the boat carried 59 passengers from Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Sudan, and Egypt. According to the reports, the boat encountered difficulties and sank in the waters north of Boulogne-sur-Mer last night. A local French official stated that six survivors, including a 10-month-old infant, have been hospitalized near the site. The French coast guard announced that the boat was headed towards Ambleteuse Beach and has launched an investigation into the incident.
