The ISIS group has announced in a statement that it carried out today's attack on residents of Daykundi province.

Tarz Press - The ISIS statement was published late Thursday night, 22 Sunbula, on the Amaq website, claiming that their forces "killed 15 Shia and wounded six others."

ISIS further stated in the announcement that the attack took place in the "Qariodall" area on the border between Daykundi and Ghor provinces.

Earlier, sources told Tarz Press that 14 people were killed and four others were injured in this attack. The sources described the condition of the wounded as critical. The Taliban government has not yet commented on this ISIS attack but has previously claimed that ISIS has been defeated in Afghanistan and no longer has the capacity to carry out attacks.

It is worth mentioning that ISIS frequently targets Shia communities in Afghanistan.
