Amrullah Saleh, the former Vice President under Afghanistan's previous President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, described the TAPI project as merely a commercial announcement between powerful nations and stated that its implementation is unlikely.

Tarz Press - The former official, who is currently in exile, wrote on his X page on Wednesday, September 11, that legality and legitimacy in Afghanistan are "absolutely" non-existent and that discussing major economic plans is akin to a "puppet show." In this note, he added, "Major economic plans and projects, from an internal perspective, depend on legitimate and people-friendly governance, and from an external perspective, they have an unspoken and undefined relationship with issues like the clash and reconciliation of major and medium-sized powers' interests."
The former Afghan official further wrote that the TAPI project is like "a seal on ice" unless Afghanistan achieves a legitimate state-nation and the social contract is renewed through possible and legitimate means.

The TAPI project was officially inaugurated today between Taliban officials and the government of Turkmenistan, with the Taliban announcing that the security of the project will be managed by the three forces, including intelligence, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Defense.
