Iskandar Momeni, Iran's Interior Minister, described the situation in the country as unbearable and called on Afghan migrants to "go and rebuild their own country."
Tarz Press - Iskandar Momeni made these remarks during a television program in Tehran, stating that the current situation is no longer bearable for his country. In the program, he addressed Afghan migrants in Iran, saying, "Go and build your own country." The Iranian official also noted that those at the top of the list for departure from Iran to Afghanistan are primarily those who have entered the country illegally and do not have residency permits.
This comes amid recent reports of mistreatment of Afghan migrants by Iranian police, with some cases showing that Afghan migrants are beaten and subjected to summary trials upon arrest. International organizations and human rights activists have strongly condemned the Iranian police's mistreatment of Afghan migrants.
