Iranian media, quoting Hossein Salami, the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that he issued a warning to Israel, stating that Iran’s revenge this time would be different.
According to Iranian media, Hossein Salami reiterated these remarks in response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau, in the heart of Tehran. He emphasized that this time, Iran's retaliation against Israel would be "different," so that Israel "does not play with the lion's tail again." The IRGC commander mentioned that the retaliatory response against Israel might take time, but according to him, Iran will never abandon it.
Meanwhile, the United States has repeatedly warned against Iran's retaliatory attacks on Israel, stating that escalating tensions in the Middle East would only cause the greatest harm to Iran.
