A credible source in the UK has confirmed to Tarz Press that the Afghan Embassy in the country will soon be handed over to the Taliban.
Tarz Press - According to sources from the Afghan Embassy in the UK, this decision is based on an agreement between the host country and the Taliban, and the UK government has ordered that the Afghan Embassy in the country be closed within the next month.
However, Zalmai Rassoul, Afghanistan's ambassador to the UK, also announced that the embassy will be officially closed at the request of the UK. Rassoul wrote in a tweet on Sunday, September 8, that the Afghan Embassy in the UK will officially close on September 27 this year, but he did not mention anything about handing the embassy over to the Taliban.
In his tweet, Zalmai Rassoul added: "We thank and appreciate all colleagues, citizens, and related institutions who have sincerely cooperated with the Afghan Embassy in London during this period." So far, the British government has not commented on the closure or handover of the Afghan Embassy to the Taliban.
This comes after the diplomatic institutions of Afghanistan in Berlin and Bonn were first closed in Germany, and afterward, the German Foreign Ministry announced that consular services for Afghan citizens would be provided from Munich. Sources told Tarz Press that consular affairs in Munich are now also being managed in agreement with the Taliban.
