Reuters has reported the commencement of the trial of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Tuesday, January 14, on charges of declaring martial law. However, he is not expected to attend the session in person. According to South Korea’s constitution, the next trial session is scheduled for next Thursday.

Yoon Suk Yeol was previously impeached on allegations of temporarily declaring martial law in the country. Meanwhile, several attempts have been made to arrest him, but they have so far been unsuccessful.
