The Pakistani military has confirmed that three Pakistani soldiers were killed today in an attack by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Tarz Press – The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistani military stated in a press release that the attack took place on Friday, August 9, in the northwestern region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In response, Pakistani forces killed four TTP militants. The TTP also claimed responsibility for the attack, asserting that they inflicted even more casualties on the Pakistani forces.
Pakistan has consistently accused the Afghan Taliban of assisting the TTP in carrying out destructive attacks within Pakistan. Just yesterday, on August 8, General Asim Munir, during a meeting with religious scholars in Islamabad, urged the Taliban to consider the 40-year friendship between Afghanistan and Pakistan and not damage their longstanding relationship over the TTP.
