Iranian media, citing officials from the country, have reported on agreements made with the Taliban regarding the fight against drug trafficking and, particularly, the treatment of drug addicts.

Tarz Press: Mohammad Zeraei, Deputy Director of Iran's Anti-Narcotics Center, stated that the Iranian delegation held discussions with the Taliban government on various topics, including combating drug trafficking, prevention, reducing demand, and treating drug addicts.
According to Iran's state media, IRNA, Mohammad Zeraei mentioned that the Iranian delegation successfully reached agreements in these areas to intensify efforts against drug trafficking and its related issues. However, further details of these agreements have not been disclosed, and it remains unclear how Iran and the Taliban plan to jointly address the treatment of drug addicts.
This development follows a statement from the Taliban's Ministry of Interior earlier this week, announcing that a six-member delegation led by Mohammad Zeraei had arrived in Kabul to meet with officials from the ministry's anti-narcotics department. The Taliban have yet to comment on the specifics of these agreements with the Iranian government.
