Iranian judicial authorities have announced the closure of two cultural centers affiliated with the German government, citing "illegal activities" as the reason for the shutdown.
According to "Mizan," a media outlet associated with Iran's judiciary, these two centers were involved in illegal activities and financial misconduct against Iranian laws. The report also mentioned that there have been other allegations of misconduct by additional German-affiliated centers in Iran, with ongoing investigations into these claims.
This development follows the closure of several Islamic centers in Germany about a month ago, which were accused of having ties with Iran. On May 24, Germany banned the Islamic Center Hamburg due to its alleged connections with Iran and the Hezbollah group, which is supported by Iran. Iran condemned Germany's action, labeling it as hostility towards Islam, and summoned the German ambassador in protest.
At the time, Germany's Interior Ministry stated that while these centers claimed to be apolitical religious organizations, their findings showed involvement in extremist activities against German law. The ministry's statement also noted that the Islamic Center Hamburg and all other organizations linked to Iran and extremist groups were banned due to their efforts against the German constitution and participation in extremist activities.
