According to the latest reports on the ongoing conflict in Syria, opposition forces to Bashar al-Assad have advanced to within approximately 10 kilometers of Damascus, the country’s capital. However, claims about armed opposition forces penetrating the city remain unverified.

Media activists aligned with the armed opposition, led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, have stated on their Telegram account that they have initiated efforts to encircle Damascus and plan to enter the city from two strategic directions.

Several media outlets, including the BBC, have reported that Assad’s opponents are advancing toward the capital from the north and south, with government forces continually losing ground in various parts of the country.

Recent reports indicate that opposition forces have made significant advances in areas such as Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama in recent weeks, though they have yet to reach Damascus. Meanwhile, Russian air forces have launched intense strikes on opposition bases. Currently, Damascus remains under government control, and claims of armed opposition infiltration into the city are unfounded.
