Tarz Press: Manzoor Pashteen, leader of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), emphasized Pashtun unity in his opening statement at the Jirga, while hinting at Pakistan’s leadership, stating that they cannot rest easy, fearing this assembly.
On October 11, Pashteen, in a symbolic gesture, referred to Pashtun politicians who had previously opposed the Jirga as his “brothers.” Addressing the thousands of Pashtuns present, he said, “O Pashtuns! Let go of blaming one another, forget the past. Your desire was to come together; now set aside internal disputes— it’s time to hold outsiders accountable.”
Pashteen also mentioned that the Jirga is expected to last for three days, and they will share daily decisions with the people.
